William "Smokey" Robinson, Jr. is a former record executive director and singer-songwriter from the United States. Robinson founded and fronted the Miracles, a Motown singing group for which he also served as primary songwriter and producer. From its inception in 1955 as "the Five Chimes" until 1972, he was the band's leader.
